Romantic Glam Tutorial featuring Althea Makeup

It’s been a hot minute since I last posted a makeup tutorial on my Youtube channel and even here on my blog. So when I received new makeup from Althea, it gave me a good excuse to glam up.

Today’s post and video has a lot of pinks and plums and reds and a touch of Glam with my glitter eyeliner, so I call this Romantic Glam. I used mostly Althea products and highlighted the newly launched Althea Makeup.

I also bring you reviews on these products; my first impression on these and talk about the things that I liked most.

Products Used:
  1. Althea Primer Water
  2. Skin Relief Spot Film Gel
  3. Petal Velvet Sunaway
  4. Flawless Creamy Concealer ( I used Ginger and Honey)
  5. Petal Velvet Powder
  6. Sunrise Moonrise Eye Palette
  7. Spotlight Eye Glitter
  8. Watercolor Cream Tints

I wasn’t able to review the Skin Relief Spot Film Gel thoroughly at the time of the video. But I’ve used it a couple of times already so I think it’s safe to share my thoughts on it now. It does help dry out the pimples faster, but I think this only works for small pimples, you know those zits that have “bullseye” in the center? I don’t think this will work for cystic acne. I also noticed that once the gel dries up, it leaves a thin white film on top. Once it moves or if you accidentally rub it, it can look like skin coming off. I learned this because I did accidentally touch it and my husband thought that my skin was peeling off. Haha!

The Flawless Creamy Concealer I liked. It does the job well and has decent pigmentation. It’s quite thick so it really covers. It’s very blendable too and is light weight.

For me, the star of the show is really the Spotlight Eye Glitter. It’s such a versatile product, you can use it in so many different ways. I usually like using it as eyeliner or as eyeshadow topper. It gives the look an extra edge, don’t you think?

Both colors are gorgeous by the way. So if you’re getting one, might as well get two and thank me later. πŸ˜‰

I gotta say the BCL x Althea Sunrise & Moonrise Eye Palette was a miss for me. I guess since I don’t wear eye makeup all the time, I have high expectations on eye shadow to be perfect given that I use them pretty much just for special occasions or events. This particular eye palette was difficult to use, at least for me. It kept moving, it was chalky. I had a hard time placing it and keeping it in its place. Blending it was pretty much a nightmare.

It sucks because the colors in this palette are all really beautiful and all very wearable. They’re actually very “me.”

Another favorite are the Watercolor Cream Tints. These are amazeballs. I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried them because of how pigmented they are. Read Tints. Tints are usually almost sheer, but the Watercolor Cream Tints almost looked like Liquid Lipsticks. They also stay on quite long, and since they are tints- they leave a little tint on the lips.

It can get messy applying it so make sure to check your teeth first before heading out the door. πŸ˜€ I also really like the smell and how feather-weight it feels. As I said in the video, it’s pretty much a lighter formula liquid lipstick!

That is it for the new Althea makeup. If you are interested in any of the products I used, visit https://ph.althea.kr to purchase. They usually have ongoing promos so I hope you can grab a good deal. πŸ™‚
