As a mom and homemaker, I don’t get to pamper myself all the time. I’m not complaining though as I love my current role. I will never trade it for anything in the world. But I know that some “me time” always helps me by clearing my mind and letting me focus on myself. One of my most practical and favorite things to do when I have those pocket times is to get my nails done.
If you ask me about my recommended local nail polish brands, one of the brands you’ll surely hear from me is Girlstuff. So when I received an invite to the launch of their newest collection, I got excited. What hyped me up even more is it’s a collaboration with none other than Minnie Mouse.
Proud and honored to work with The Walt Disney Company Philippines, Girlstuff has endeared itself to the local market over the years with its fashion-forward stance, formaldehyde-free creations and affordable pricing. Developed in the Philippines with the dynamic and fashionable Filipina in mind, Girlstuff is customized and made in France. Unlike most local nail polish brands, Girlstuff Nail Lacquers are free from harmful chemicals commonly found in polish such as Formaldehyde, Toluene, Di-butyl phthalate, Camphor, and Formaldehyde Resin. Each bottle comes with the Girlstuff safety guarantee to assure you of healthy nails, and a quality assurance of high gloss, long wear and no-streak formula!
That morning, I had to bring my daughter to school so I decided to bring her with me to the event which I rarely do. But since it was something interesting- even for her, I knew she’d like it too.
I guess I found another bonding time with my little girl. 🙂 We both got our nails done. The Minnie Mouse Palette was inspired by her enduring style and timeless class; fearless independence and contagious high spirits.
Here are our portraits taken during the event. Look at the nail art! I could never do that. Haha!
Janina, owner and brains of Girlstuff shared with us how it was really blood, sweat and tears to finally partner with Disney. And may I just say, it’s all worth it. As they said, it was a dream come true.
To celebrate this special collection, Girlstuff created Minnie Mouse-inspired nail art tutorials with three ladies of different personalities and ages, TV Host and model Janeena Chan, actress Alexa Ilacad and beauty blogger Nikki Tiu. Watch out for their fun and informative nail art tutorials to be released on Disney’s and Girlstuff’s social media sites. Girlstuff encourages ladies of all ages to express their inner Minnie Mouse with these shades.
The place was packed of cutesy and girly stuff. Very Minnie. Each place was so Instagrammable.
They even had a Minnie themed dessert station!
Here’s a photo taken by my date that day. She was so happy and excited.
Here are the 10 head-turning Minnie Mouse shades:
Minnie Mouse’s spunk and independence as she goes from one adventure to the next is embodied by these shades: “Paint The Town” is a delicate blend of pastel blue and mint green.”Sweetest Little Thing” is a dainty mix of blush and white. “Simply Me” is a cool mash-up of white and the lightest of greys.
The Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse romance has sparked 3 sentimental shades. These are shades that reflect quiet class and harmony. “Yours Truly” is a warm nude. “Je t’aime” is a passionate dark taupe. “A True Love story “is a romantic and vintage mauve.
“So In Love” is an intense deep red shade.
Just like any other girl, Minnie Mouse just wants to have fun! Here are 4 girly shades that evoke celebratory vibes and capture Minnie’s high spirits! “Live Out Loud” is a fun cotton candy pink. “Be Mine” is a fiery maraschino cherry red. “All Dolled Up” is a happy strawberry smoothie pink.
Robyn and I decided to get nail art done.
Here I was taking her photo with her new pal, Minnie.
Also saw my dear friend Jes, who just gave birth! Here we are talking beauty and babies.
As for my nails of choice:
Here are some other photos from the event. It was difficult not to take more photos because of how beautiful the entire room was.
Congratulations to Girlstuff and Disney for this match made in Heaven collaboration!
