I know I have been on hiatus for quite a long time. But I have one major reason for it; it's because I celebrated my birthday with a big bang! Hubby asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I thought about it, and all I really wanted was to celebrate it with my dearest friends and family at home. And so that's what we did. It was a 3 part celebration for my 30th and I could not ask for anything better.
Part 1 was with my closest friends. I had errands to run in the afternoon so it was a dinner celebration with my friends. I knew that I wanted to prepare food for our guests but I could only do for this batch since this meant that I had the day to prepare and cook whilst the party for my family was at lunch and I didn't have the luxury to prepare food for over 20 guests. I cooked Roasted Chicken while Hubby cooked Steak. We ordered Pork Barbecue as well. It was great seeing my friends once again. It's always a blast catching up with them even though we see each other often.
Part 2 was with my family. It was a riot! There were over 20 people who came. (I come from a huge family.) We had to borrow tables and chairs so everybody can be seated comfortably. We also stocked up on drinks, tableware and all that jazz. For the grand party, we decided to order food because we really didn't have time to cook anymore. On the menu were Beef Mechado, Pork Barbecue, Chicken, Siomai, Prawns and Pansit. Also bought some ice cream and used our herbs to make tea for everyone. As always, it was a fun time with my family. I always enjoy their company. Even though it was quite tiring entertaining so many people, I was thrilled to see each and everyone of them there celebrating with us.
Part 3 was a one on one time with my husband. I was able to ask my sister to stay over to help me out with Robyn. Ro doesn't and never had a yaya and we're so blessed that my sisters don't mind looking after her once in a while so H and I can spend time together. It's difficult finding time to be alone together but because of my family, we manage. H and I simply had a "date day". We had lunch together, watched a movie and had dinner at our favorite, Seven Corners at Crowne Plaza. All of the staff and chefs were surprised to see just the two of us and they were asking about Robyn since we're always with her when we dine there. H said it's by far one of the most relaxing dates we've had in a loooong looong time, and I have to agree. See, as much as I love and miss my daughter, I know that it's also important to have quality time with my husband, just us two.
This is probably one of the best birthdays I've had. I'm so grateful and so happy with everything that I have in my life and who I have become. My ultimate goal even back when I was a teen was to make my family proud. And I know that I have. It makes me teary eyed when I imagine what my life is now because I honestly don't know what I did to deserve this.
I have a home that we've worked for for so long and I still can't believe that we're actually here. I have a husband, who has given me more than anything I could ever hope for and my daughter, who means the world to me.
